Rack & Pinion Replacement Cost (5.5 Gen)
My rack & pinion is going on my 02 and I was wondering how much you guys paid to get it replaced. I was going to attempt to replace it myself but it seems like a b****.

Good point. The only time you want to replace the Rack & Pinion is if it is leaking internally or has hydraulically failed (Only power assist in one direction).
Tierods are replaceable items. Even the internal. Boots are even more replaceable.
THe job itself is painful, it's one of the first things on the body so it's got the most carp around it. I'm going to estimate roughly $700 minimum depending on your location. Tierods are usually $300-400 to have replaced including the alignment.
