Maxima 2002 AC not cold
Maxima 2002 AC not cold
Need your help... I had an accident with my maxima that damaged back side ( from the trunk to the backseats). After fixing the car, the AC not blowing cold air... The comprosser not working but when I connect power to it is working fine and AC blowing cold air. I checked everything at a maintenanceshop and replaced the AC dashboard but still no cold air. I noticed the outside tempereture on the AC dashboard reading ( -30 C ) . what is the problem?

Thanks for answers. But where is the temp sensor located in maxima 2002. I searched in the front, behind the grill, evrywhere, but could not locate it. Can you please attach photo for help..Thanks
Here is from a previous post of the same issue.
A bad ambient air temperature will result in the auto AC becoming confused and believe the temperature of the air to be something than it actually is. For example, the actual ambient air temperature may be 80 degrees (F) outside, but the ambient air temperature will display as 30 (F), if you were to depress the "AMB" button on the auto AC unit in the vehicle. The onboard self-diagnostic procedure may also indicate the ambient air temperature sensor is malfunctioning, which would result in a sensor replacement.
In the event the ambient air temperature sensor needs to be replaced or cleaned, the following will assist in the necessary procedure:
(1) Locate the ambient air temperature sensor at the front of the vehicle, lower left valence opening. The sensor looks like the following, and it should be noted if you have an auto-dim mirror, you may have a second sensor present (left is ambient air temperature sensor and right (the blue-tipped one) is the auto-dim mirror ambient air temperature sensor) (See http://www.fourthrock.com/maxima/mir...l/DSC00011.JPG )
(2) Detach bracket holding ambient air sensor to vehicle using 10mm socket. Note that it is not mandatory to detach the sensor bracket, holding the sensor, but due to a confined space, it is best to remove the bracket from the vehicle in order to easily detach the sensor from the harness.
(3) Detach original sensor from harness.
(4) Re-attach new sensor ($50~$70) to harness or clean the offending sensor and re-attach the newly cleaned sensor.
(5) Re-attach sensor bracket to vehicle and tighten.
(6) Turn vehicle key to the "ON" position.
(7) Depress the "AMB" button on thh auto AC unit and verify ambient air temperature display is correct.
(8) Done
