Megan catback bad rattle

The front hanger for the catback is pushed up against the bottom of the car. The rubber part of the hanger doesn't do anything at all for it, its like the exhaust pipe is bent. If I get the the updated solid rubber hanger do u guys think it would keep it away from the bottom of the car?

My Megan catback did the same thing when I got it installed with my stock cat. I tried a new, stiffer hanger but it made no difference. Tightening a hose clamp around the muffler hanger closest to the wheel should make the rattle go away.

That made it a lot better for me, but I ended up taking some heat resistant rubber and using weatherstripping adhesive to glue pieces onto the b-pipe where it was knocking against the chassis. I did that almost a year ago and it's been completely quiet ever since.

Had the same issue with my srs catback. Was hitting the heat shield after the first bend (following from the main cat to muffler). Used some tin snips to notch out where it was hitting, no rattle since.

I have a stock cats. I don't understand how it could be the cat causing the problem when it's obviously the front hanger that is welded to the Megan catback hitting the bottom of the car. And have had the weatherstripping in there but it doesn't help. The hanger welded to the car hits the pipe too I just noticed. And I tried pulling the hanger closest to the wheel over and tightening it but it always slides back into place.

You can also try weatherstripping in the U-shaped crossmembers where the piping goes up over the axle. That will help to restrict movement some more.

Been through the megan deal before search for a thread from me about exhaust rattle and clunk.also your going to need to heat and bend those hangers on the exhaust system soory to say the megans were never a easy fit.i said cat in the begining because there are issues with the length of some of the aftermarket cats and test pipes which cause this exact same issue everything would be about a inch off.

if its hitting the heat shield, just rip that heat shield out. If its hitting the actual body, try experimenting with hose clamps on the various hangers, different numbers of clamps, different tightness, etc. If that doesnt help then you might have to try out the weatherstrip idea

That bumper needs adjustment with a can of gas and a lighter
