Replacing my manifold gaskets. NWP Phenolic guys, step inside

So im leaking oil. Im planning to replace all the necessary gaskets to get it to stop. Ive been quoted roughly $100 for all the gaskets and o-rings (for the injectors) from a couple different places. All OEM. I was contemplating getting the NWP spacers since Im going to have everything apart anyway. Of course, there will still be some gaskets I will need to get in addition to the NWP kit, so the cost of the NWP will still be the more expensive option even after the $225 price tag.

Anyway, I guess my question is, is it worth it? Should I just replace the gaskets with OEM and walk away or should I fork over the cash for the phenolic kit? It just seems like a big expense for what it is. I know the process is expensive and they never need to be replaced and the manifold runs cooler so you get more hp, etc etc etc. Im mainly a daily driver now. No racing, but I love having that power just waiting to be tapped.

To those who have done it, what difference have you noticed? Is it worth it?

Thanks!

Yeah with as many times as I've taking my intake manifold off, its nearly paid for itself in OEM gaskets.

OEM gaskets are for chumps. Always use RTV and save money. Even the little time it takes to scrape off RTV more than pays for itself for re-installation.

The NWP set is great, though. The heat soak is killer in the summer without them.

Have you seen the gains it proposes? Any additional benefits?

you will notice it for a couple days and then it becomes "normal." I saw a difference when I installed it on my automatic

Why would you be leaking oil from the intake manifold?

I would say it's worth it to get the NWP spacers, IF you have the extra money to spare and it's not hurting your pockets. Even if you didn't care about the hp gain, still a great product and way better than anything OEM that will make your car run better (and cooler).

As for the gains, it really depends on what engine you have and what other mods you have. On the VQ30DE-K you won't have much gain or feel that much difference, since our manifolds are already one of the best and they're plastic so they don't have the same heat soak problems of the VQ30DE or VQ35.

However, if you have intake/exhaust mods chances are you'll feel a decent small gain from the spacers, I know I did but it wasn't much. On the VQ35 you really feel a nice gain due to the heat soak of those stock IM's. On the VQ30DE-K you're looking at maybe a solid 5-6whp depending on your mods. VQ35 can get like 10whp from them though. So it's a matter of price vs. what you get out of it. Whatever you decide to go with, good luck!
