Help me determine what the problem is ....

2002 Maxima, 235,000 Miles. I have a hollow sound when slowing down and vibration at speeds around 60-70. Seems to be coming from the drivers side front tire. I've had the brakes replaced and rotated the tires.

I'm not sure if this is just a tire imbalance, or if this could be a wheel bearing issue, or control arm etc.

Thanks !

That's probably the tires themselves. That was my problem. Replaced them, everything is fine now.

I would say wheel bearings.

If you believe the sound may be coming from a wheel bearing, find an open road, get up to 20/30mph, then slowly steer/shift the weight of the car from left to right. If a bearing is bad, the sound will increase greatly when the weight is pressed to that side. (ie, if the left bearing is bad, it will get louder as you turn to the right, throwing the weight of the vehicle to the left).
