slow start or just me ?

Here in Albuquerque new Mexico its 102 degrees My car starts quick as a normal maxima start with 1-11/2 cranks but today I noticed when I started my car it started quick but noticed that the rpms slowly raised but not really slow just a little slower than usual ,is that normal or what could t be? Idle on car is perfect

was the engine already warm when it did that? could just be from starting a hot engine in hot weather. if you can, try starting it later at night when its cooler and see if it does it again. otherwise i wouldnt worry about it unless it happens continually

The RPMs usually raise up when you start your car and that is normal. Did the car act differently before?

It was at around 2pm and I didn't drive the car at all since 6am but it was 102 degrees outside at that time

was your AC on when you started it? in some vehicles, the AC clutch will automatically disengage when the car starts, under heavy load, or if overheating is imminent. i dont know if 5th gens automatically disengage the AC when being started, if not and you had the AC on that might have played into the RPM's slowly building up because it takes the engine more effort to turn the compressor hence harder to start
