Code p1130 fix???

Hello,

I have my smog due on or before the 24th of this month. I have been randomly getting the P1130 Swirl Control Valve Control Solenoid Valve. Seriously, Such a long name?

I have checked for vacuum leaks and all checks are okay.

Called the dealer, they want to sell a new upper intake manifold for $600.00

Anyone have a part number or something more specific to work with? Thanks.

I am thinking of going to the junkyard and picking up an upper intake manifold if possible with the VIAS/SCV assembly.

This code is hell brovand I mean HELL, look at my last threads! Its been nothing but problems for me and I had to fix it for emissions testing as well, I was getting p1130 and p1165, I fixed it by replacing the swirl control valve switch (p1165) and I did that Saturday morning and so far still no check engine light (fingers crossed)

The problem is mines is random. It is just P1130 by itself.

I am also randomly getting P0325 Knock Sensor and P0158 & 159 randomly as well.

I have knock sensor & Bank 2 Sensor 2 O2 sensor on the way.

But what is really troubling me is the P1130. Ugh.

Yea the p1130 is the solenoid, there's a way to check if its working, when you start the car in the morning the engine is at 59F the solenoid should be off at 131F the solenoid should switch to open

Haha I wish, there's a swirl control valve actuator on the opposite side by the fuel rail, that's what you can see open and close

Same issue - 2000 Maxima. Fingers crossed that someone could shed some light on this issue. I have searched the forum and all responses flow in an endless circle.

I got the same damn code P1130. I checked the actuator and it works fine, everything is connected in the linkage and it opens and close in a smooth way.

How I can check the Swirl Valve Solenoid if it is working or not?

I can try the Check Procedure in the FSM... But if it the cause, can I replace it?

Are you just getting the p1130 code? It looks like I'm the only one on the forum to find the solution to this problem

Yes, it's the only code that shows in the scan.

The SES light doesn't light up but when I use the scanner the code pops up, telling me only as a reminder and not a critical problem.

When the starter was faulty and the car doesn't even crank, it pops up a lot of codes (Crankshaft Position Sensor, Cam Position Sensor, and even the MAF) but after the rapir of the starter that codes doesn't show anymore. Only the P1130 code (Swirl Valve Solenoid).

I tested the VIAS and it works, and making a search some people says that maybe the solenoid it's dirty and needs a cleanup.

Any suggestion for fixing this problem, Carlos?

First thing first do you know where the solenoid is exactly located? Its on the driver side next to the manifold, after that check all vacuum hoses connecting to that,
When you said you checked the actuator did you check once on a cold start and once when the car was at normal temp because that is the correct way to check the actuator, when the car is cold the actuator is on, then when temp is normal it switches to off.

Yep, I located the actuator and check it at normal temp since the first post that I made. It works fine.

Today after work I checked the vacuum lines, I saw one of them a little damaged (Copilot side, just near of the oil cap). I'll try to replace all of them and see if that fix the problem.
