5th Gen Maxima Evap Canister and Valve

I have a 5th Gen Maxima GLE - 2003 - VQ35DE Engine. I experienced a P1456 code and determined that the canister shutoff valve was not working properly. Of course, the part numbers have changed. I have a canister part number: 14950-4L601 that has been replaced by part number: 14950-4L60C or 14950-4L602(?). The original valve is a 14920+B that has been replaced by part number: 14935-5M00B or 14935-5M003.

Without any irony, I proceeded to remove the valve only to have both bolts that hold the valve to the canister twist off after applying only about 15 lbs of pressure. Okay, I can fix that! However, as I looked at the plastic around the nuts that are fixed in the body of the canister, I noticed that there was a crack all the way through the body. New canister needed!

Question: Where do I find inexpensive (not cheap) replacement parts?

this is a very common issue when removing the rusted bolts on the valve, and having a crack on the canister itself.

place for parts.... search and search and search.... napa, courtesy nissan, rock auto... amazon... and find the best price and take it from there

you can put a few drops of air tool oil in the valve, then cycle it with a 12v power supply a few times

Gonzo, I literally did the exact same thing today. Knight, forgive me, but what do you mean cycle it a few times with a 12v supply? And where do you put the oil in? Thanks!

You can seal the cracks with rtv silicon like I did. I thought it was the valve as well but the code went away when I sealed it up. Rock auto sells both at competitive prices.
