Those intakes are absolutely garbage and they don't make power

Are there any intakes that would be worth buying? Or should I just stay with what I have?Originally Posted by clintb3astwood

Short ram is better depending on how serious you are with performance there's
a member here that makes 3.5"-4" intakes but the car must be tuned with it on.

Time for some reseach
I say save your money and stay with the stock airbox.
At the top, click search, then advanced search. Pick 5th gen forum on the right.
Type "Injen" as your search word and you'll see what we're all talking about.
Type "intake" as your search word to learn what people have tried over the years, and be sure to read the stickies.
Grab some
and enjoy

Yeah, he's right stick with the stock airbox til you do the research and decide what you want. Inbox members surratt and can't.get.ryte for further info and good luck!
I have an Apexi pop charger on mine. Seems to work good without being too loud since the resonator box is still in place.

I made my cai for less than $100.

The GAB is a good mod, cheap with dyno-proven results. May not look the prettiest, but you can do it for under $20.
Injen places the filter directly behind the radiator. Makes as much sense as putting an oven in the fridge. Engineering fail.
If you want looks, a short ram or pop-charger are good choices too. Anything that says Nismo/Stillen is gonna be too much money for the product, IMO.

yup same here, I made a cai using a cai from ebay from a 4th gen maxima with 3" piping. Relocated my battery and fusebox sideways and cut a hole for the intake piping to go under the car. using a 3" k&n filter.Originally Posted by DOODOOCHIP

So I tested this today. With my SRI my Intake Air Temperature was typically 13 degrees Fahrenheit over outside temp while traveling 40+ mph. If you came to stop it would rise quickly. Originally Posted by Donkeypunch

With the stock system installed with GAB mod I was getting 18 degrees Fahrenheit over outside temp at highway speeds. But when coming to a stop the temp didn't rise as fast. I made sure during this test that all gaskets and seals were intact for the scope and box.
I did this using both Car Gauge Pro and Torque Pro.

My intake was created for about $25. MAF adapter was from a friend's 02 Sentra Spec-V that I found in the garage. Got lucky and found it. Got a brand new 'awesome' air filter from Oreily's Auto Parts for $20. Intake sits right behind the battery. PCV valve from VC has them small filters on it. Removed the huge air box and stock intake, Drives perfectly fine.

They gotta match.
