Courtesy FSTB is hindering spray nozzle. PLESE HELP NEWBIE!!!

Hello fellows, I am new here.

I just got my FSTB from Courtesy, but lately I realized that the nozzle is extremely weak, especailly on the driver's side. So today, I took the FSTB out and the problem is gone. However, I found no clearance problem inside the hood. My Nozzle is just gett ing really weak and I don't know why.

Is there anything I can do to reroute the windshield nozzle hose so that I don't have spraying problems???

Thanks.

maybe the fstb is pushing the hood up after u close it? that might cause the problem

Ok. since people are not being very helpful so far... j/k guys
Couple of things: didja remove those black rings on top of the towers before you installed the bar ? If not: do it it'll give it some more clearance to the hood liner(not whole lot though - still worth a try). If that doesn't work: On my car I just took the hose from behind the hood liner and routed it closer to the back of the hood... ugly but works. some people rerouted the hoose behind the hood liner so it doesn't get pinched with mixed results...

interesting angle

A lot of people here have been complaining lately of weak driver's side spray. Never thought about the fstb being the cause
thanx!

If you do a search you will see this is a problem for some with the courtesy FSTB. The Stillen bar is flater. You may notice that if you pop the hood button inside the car (but don't lift the hood open)the driver's side nozzle starts to spray fine again. It seems the bar presses on the hood liner wich squeezes the nozzle tubing. I have been meaning to remove the hood liner to redirect the hose and then put the liner back on.

Hmm, I didn't have any black rings. Maybe it's just a SE thing.

From what I remember I didn't have any, I could have though. It's been 10 months since I've had the FSTB on, so I could have forgotten about them. Oh well My friend's 00 SE had them.

Funny (and not), I dont have a FSTB (but seriously planning of buying one in the weeks to come) but I do have a nozzle problem (not a nose problem!). Mine is also weak, but on both side. Went to the dealer and he said it was ok (). Anyone with the same problem?

I had the same problem with my Courtesy bar. That was almost two years ago and I have since replaced it with a Stillen bar. Re-routing the hose, underneath the hood heat shield, is about the only way to fix it. You'll probably not have enough slack in the hose to re-route that, so you'll probably need to pick up some extra hose. I removed that hood heat sheild thing once when I replaced all hoses with Hose Techniques stuff. It's not difficult but a hassle nonetheless.

I had the same problem with the driver's side nozzle. Lift up the hood liner and reposition the feeder tube. It is hooked into a retainer clip - take it out and let it free float. It will not cause a problem.

It seems like people are having issues with every bar except the Stillen...maybe they charge more because they actually design it to work without problems.

Put some baby powder on the bar and close the hood. You'll see where the bar is pushing on the hood liner.....

I didn't have to use extra hose. But you can get it at Pep boys or Advance or wherever... it's usually called vaccum/windshield washer hose.
