sorry to hear about your lost.. that has to be one of the most sick feeling in the world seeing your baby on blocks..

as for wheel locks.. when I went to my dealer few month ago ask them to check on my brake TSB.... they took off my rim without any problem.. I have lock on them... forgot to ask them how they did it.. but they didn't ask me for any key or anything....

as for gorilla lock goes... go to american tires.. they sell a set of 20 gorilla locks for like 57 bucks.. to me that is dirty cheap! consider a set of 4 cost like 30 dollars... they probably have to special order it though...

Sorry to here that. It really sucks. Once my "freind" helped me install a system in my Mustang and then stole it a week later while I was at my brother's funeral. And on two occasions I've come back from out of town and was violated. The first time they stole my rims on the Mustang and didn't even put it on blocks (sat it in the mud) and the second time some one stole my '92 Maxima SE. I got payback on the "friend" but never found anything on the other two losses.

MASTER KEY

There isn't a single master key for the Nissan wheel locks, they simply have a master key SET, which includes wheel lock keys for all of the wheel locks they install on their cars at the dealership, cuz I asked the mechanic. I realized that I didn't give him my wheel lock key to rotate my tires, and wondered how they got them off. Peace.

Re: I know da feeling

Same thing here. Woke up to my car in the streets
with all 4 tires/rims gone after i only had the car
for a month. luckily i had a 500 buck deductible
and the 17 rims/wheel was valued at 3500+ dollars.
so i had 3000 bucks to get my new set. this may be
a blessing in disguise but boy was i piissed. now
i have 18 inch konig tantrum on nittos and they
handle much better than the stock 17's potenzas. plus
a few extra dollars remaining for my trouble in my
pocket. wish you the best.

Houston...it is bad luck with that...

I travel to Houston on business quite a lot and I had an experience once. I was staying in the Holiday Inn Select in Greenway Plaza and woke up one morning to find every Grand Am and Century rental car in the garage on blocks. I am talking about 60+ cars all on blocks. Those rental cars are rented with the alloys and somebody figured out a good hit...obviously professionals. I had, luckily, rented an Altima for the first time from Avis so I wasn't affected.

Good luck with your claim.

The Max is not a slide away din. To steal the radio out of a max is a pain in the ***. you have to remove the top a/c vents, the screw behind the ashtray and then the entire surround to the shifter. BUT, the biggest problem with stealing HIS stereo is that he has a hideaway brain unit that they would need to make the head unit ever work again. What's actually in his dash is nothing more than a screen with a slot in it. Bolt down the brain, that will thwart em.

Anyway, here's some tips you might want to consider:
1) Go back to Cartoys and have them chain your DVD system down to the firewall or somewhere back there that's a bit hard to get by without spending a certian amount of time. Most Japanese DIN mounts are just "slide-away". Not much in terms of security really.

2) I'm not sure from the photo but some tint will help a bit

3) Clifford alarms are perhaps one of the best for your money. Install every possible option and back up the major components with similar units interspersed throughout the car in case the main unit is tampered with.

4) Hood locks.

Btw, please post your experience with the Michelins when you get them. It's true what everyone says about the Potenza's

Lock nuts...

Sorry to ear that some theives took your wheel, but like my grand mother says your lucky they didn't took your life, which would have been the worst. The positive thing is you will end up with nicer wheel and tires, but still being stolen is not a funny thing.

I suggest for your next wheel, buy 5 sets of wheel locks, I ordered those with my new wheel last week-end, if they want it they gonna have to work their a$$ off to get it.

Like one of the guy says get a terrier then make a trap in the door so the dog can go in and out, the dog will ear anything that happend on your properties, believe me it's better than a gun.

Good luck.

2)No Comment
3)I completely agree. Although, the key is to put the brain in a place thiefs won't look at/can't find. I hope no one gets any ideas here, but the brain for my alarm is actually behind my Headunit and DVD, which means a lot of work for the crook. Back up batterys for the siren, extra sirens are also pretty important too.

For instance, my friend lost his transmitter and couldn't start his car. So, I removed the dash piece under the steering column and simply unhooked the brain, all in a matter of 5 minutes. Now imagine what a car thief that doesn't care about breaking anything can do it in? Point is HIDE the brain!!!

me too, but at least i upgraded to Pilots, next time someone steals my wheels i'll be a little wiser with the insurance company but i'm not counting on that happening again, the Geico guy did a great job, great communication and everything, that's Gieco, not gecko

never take a perfectly good garage and convert it into an apt for granny. I would park granny in the driveway and the car in the garage. If I woke up to find grannys wheelchair up on blocks I wouldnt be too upset

seriously...forget the granny remarks heh

i have had experiences with cars being broken into and I do know the feelings of anger and feeling personally violated. no anti theft device is invulnerable but a set of wheel locks will deter most thieves..they usually move along looking for easier pickings instead of trying to defeat an anti theft device

F#%$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dude......those m*therf*ckers need to f*cking DIE!!!!!!!!

similar sh*t happened to me right in front of my house!!! but the f*ckers only took two wheels and left my baby on the f*cking Jack stand! I called the local nissan service center and it turns out that some other guy had two rims stolen too.

First thing I did was go to Home Depot to buy motion sensor flood lights for the front of the house. Second thing I did was to order new rims with the insurance money from discounttiredirect.com (Konig's Baby!) and last but certainly not least.....I bought a Premise License to carry a gun which now sleeps by my side. I f*cking HOPE they come back to my house......they're f*cking DEAD

either way...those m*therf*ckers should be found, tortured, and killed.

I feel your pain man.......

Thats not a bad trade off at all. Well except for them stealing your rims. Do you fear them coming back now that you got nicer ones?
