Oily 2 and 4th spark plugs. Oil in intake. Intake "pipes" to 2 and 4th cyl are lower.
Oily 2 and 4th spark plugs. Oil in intake. Intake "pipes" to 2 and 4th cyl are lower.
Is that common?
It is easy to see that parts of intake ("pipes"), going toward 2 and 4th cyl., are lower.
Rest of plugs are dry. There is no way engine has bad oil seals only in 2 cylinders!!!
Compression is perfect.
Do you know anything about that problem?

oil in intake
If the oil is on the whole body of the spark plug, you need to replace the spark plug tube seal. But if the oil is only on the tip of the spark plug, the engine piston ring have a leak.
Didn't you already start a thread regarding oil in your intake? They suggested installing an oil catch can to reduce your blow by. Unfortunately all the oil is going to collect on the bottom runners. Gravity is very cruel that way.
just did 04 vc left/right sides w/ 04 gaskets, old vc's had just started forming a lite oily coating around the bottom 90 degree corners. (an 03 se 6speed w/ 94K)
when changing out the spark plugs, plug #5 was full of oil, #1 and #3 were fine. #2, #4, #6 had NO oil but had the oily/red residue a little more than half way up the threads, can't be good. plugs looked pretty toast and noticed heavier pinging from 1k-2k under load.
bought the entire 7 piece uim gaskets from beck/arnley from rockauto, all gaskets installed perfectly.

at the same time took apart throttle body when r/r old gasket cleaned the throttle body from both sides. just used brake cleaner sprayed into paper towels, wiped the metal ring inside surfaces well. cleaned the plate from both sides without moving it hardly at all, mine wasn't that dirty but had some carbon residue, use more finesse than brawn, it will get clean.
bad oil all over in the uim chambers, since changing out all gaskets, cleaned the entire uim, gaskets openings allowed very good access to most of uim. used brake cleaner into paper towel and wiped all surfaces w/oil. the lower intake manifold, gaskets and actual intakes valves and paths into the heads were all gunked with even an heavier oily residue, more carbon material. clean it well.
very surprised to see so much oil in uim, im and lower intake into both heads, although bank 1/firewall side paths was considerably dirtier than bank 2/radiator intake paths.

2 and 4th cylinder
As much as possible dont spray the cleaner directly to the throttle body, spray the cleaner to the rag and clean it gently without moving the butterfly. Place a small amount of silicone to the critical area of the valve cover gasket to prevent oil leak. Try to aspirate some of the oil left on the sparkplug tube, because when you start the car it will burn those oil and you will be having a lot of white smoke on the tail pipe. Install a PCV oil catcher
