5.5 gen only revs to 6,000 at WOT?

At full throttle it only revs to 6,000? Redline is at 6,600 but will only reach 6,000 slowly and i feel a slight power loss up top for some reason. Any reason for this?

At WOT it only revs at 6,000 rpm. It's redline is at 6,600. It used to rev at 6,200 but now it only stops at 6,000 with a slight loss of power at the same time. Low end power is good but top end feels sluggish now. Any reason for this?

try cleaning the mass air flow sensor with appropriate cleaner. if it doesn't work, might need to replace it.

What is the proper way to clean it? I tried taking it out once but the two screws holding it down are rusted.

Check cats, including precats. Also could be MAFS.

So ... now you rev to 6600? Never heard of such a problem but theoretically I guess it makes sense.

[[c
olor="black"]i]i have read in one of the thread that gle and gxe 5th gen maxima have rev limiter done by nissan due to safety issue. The front stabilizer bar is only 22mm and the coil spring and suspension are not sport tuned.

Gxe havee p215/55hr16 with overall height of 56.3

gle have p215/55hr17 with overall height of 57.1

se model of 5th gen maxima does not have a rev limiter with thicker front stabilizer bar 23mm, sport tuned suspension-higher rear spring rate with performance tire p225/50vr17, overall height is 56.7.

All Maximas have rev limiters, no matter the year, trim or tranny.

Yeah...must have been a typo for speed limiter.

The inaccuracy of the OEM analog tach becomes painfully obvious when you watch a youtube video of a Maxima running hard to redline with one of those digital fuel controllers set to display rpms.

Bank 2 pre cat was all in crumbles. Bank 1 had the whole broken piece of honey comb hanging out the outside of the pipe like it was trying to pinch a ****.

Where's all the nonbelievers, now?

I hope they didn't damage your cylinder walls or rings.

Make sure to gut the rear cat. It's probably full of the debris and still choking the engine.

Seems like antifoulers do the trick. No need to mess with wiring with sims thse days.

I've yet to have a secondary code and I've had headers for 9 years/110k miles.
