So yes I'm not joking I automatically started my 02 max put the key in the ignition put it in first gear turn the steering wheel left and before I knew it the wheel was locked and I crack my driver side headlight and fog light smmfh....... does anyone know why this may have happened or what can cause this issue ?? Would be really helpful I know these cars are real sensitive but wtf I'm just glad I wasn't going no more then 10- 20mph & didn't hit no one else

 

Sounds like your auto start has issues to me.

Or you didn't turn the key to unlock the wheel.



Do some trial and error repeating what you did when it happened.
I'm sure you'll narrow it down.

Well i found out it was a code p1614 (NATS ) NISSAN ANTI THEFT .... that triggers the lock mode .... claims that could be faulty key and couple other things but hasn't locked since so I haven't really worried about it

no I'm not George whom ever that is

 

NATS ain't gonna cause it to lock while driving..... when starting, sure but not when vehicle is already running
