P0442
Hello,
I'm probably annoying everyone with my threads about p0442 and p0455 but it's a project to me trying to figure out why there is a small leak. Also, I'm broke so I'm trying to figure out clues and support from you guys because I know you all know more than me. I know nothing about cars at all. After putting a full tank of gas, the code p0442, which is the only code remaining, went away but I'm sure when it's less than half tank it will show up again. Any one know any details on why this happened? Is that a hint of anything??

I had these same two codes, this is what it did to fix the problem, checked all hoses for cracks,Replaced gas cap,Charcoal canister, replaced the vent control valve, and no more codes after that, you can reuse your charcoal canister if you can take off the two bolts that hold the vent valve in place without snapping them in half, you can also reuse vent valve by cleaning it with wd40? someone correct me if i'm wrong,i had to buy a new Canister and valve because i snapped both bolts
