Please help with passenger seat!

Hi,

My passenger seat only moves forward not backward. The back tilts back and forward but I can't figure out why I can't move the seat back.

I was thinking it could it be the motor issue that many have discussed here but think it may be different as it does move forward.

Do you have any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks so much!

Is the seat currently all the way forward, all the way backward, or somewhere in the middle?

When you hit the switch, do you see or hear anything turning, moving, noises, etc?

Hi,

It's almost all forward, as it moves forward with no problem. The issue is that it doesn't move back at all. I see how other members had it where it wouldn't move forward or backward, but in my case, it's just one direction not working.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

What about noises though? Do you hear the motor turning? Do you hear any electrical clicks? I believe the motor is in-line with a relay so you may hear a relay click when you hit the switch.

I have an intermittent failure of my passenger seat on occasions (motor issue not switch). As other threads in the past have mentioned, I took the seat out and played with the electrical motor contacts and got it to work. This lasted for about 1/2 year of flawless operation, and since then it refuses to work only rarely. When it does; I've often found if I sit in it and use my weight while wiggling forward and backward (while working the switch) it'll come back to life for awhile.

Thanks guys,

I got it to work, just banged on the actual lever/switch itself with my hand towards the back, and it started moving.

Thanks for you help!
