The clothe interior on the 2k2 is worse than 2k, 2k1s!!!
I went to the dealer to check out the 6-speed.
I checked out the one with the frost inside, and
It seems like the cloth interior on the SEs are not as good as the 2k and 2k1s. You know how on the pre 2k2s, the cloth feels and LOOKS like suede, and the texture is so soft, how nice it is.
BUT, on the 2k2 SEs, the cloth looks and feels so cheap compared to 2k1s. The texture is very rough and all, and the color is different too. it is not as "frost" as before.
If I ever get a used Maxima without leather, it won't be the 2k2s. I'm serious.

I went with leather on my 2k2 and I must say I love it. I used to hate leather but this is soft and still retains it's firmness. I had cloth in my 2k1 and it was quite nice and I do think it was slightly better than the 2k2 cloth loaner I got.

I despise cloth interior but in any case, the 2K2 cloth completely blows the 2K-2K1 cloth away (As well as the rest of the car, those disgusting 2K-2K1 8 spoke GXE/GLE rims or the hubcap option, the 8 second 0-60 time). I think Nissan actually managed to make the cloth somewhat attractive overall, something which I thought was impossible.
