Rust Problem

First time posting and this may be a previous discussion but I wasn't able to find anything related. The crosspiece below the radiator on my 2K Max is rusted out in the center where a motor mount(?) attaches. Is this replaceable or can I have someone do some creative welding or is it a lost cause? Thanks for any feedback.

Same thing happened to my 2002 Maxima. I took it in to my buddies body shop and had him cut out the half that was still remaining lool. Then had him custom weld a new picece in and now its stornger than it every was. Good luck!

As previously stated there is obviously a few fixes and threads. You could also check your local scrapyard and possibly find a solid one reasonably priced. Goodluck!

I would NOT buy a used crossmember, regardless of condition.

Also, the aftermarket ones don't last very long.

I'd get an OEM piece and install the entire thing, or cut and weld in stronger metal appropriately.

lower radiator support

OK,thanks for all the info. So I've ordered the OEM part from Courtesy and I've removed all other front end parts and I'm getting ready to use my new handy dandy HF spot weld drill bit and my neighbor is bringing home a MIG welder this weekend.
