Exhaust Question

I have some hairline cracks in the weld around the flange of the resonator pipe where it connects to the cat. I'm trying to deal with this problem but I noticed that the pipe from the resonator is just kind of laying on a crossmember just before this connection. I've never heard any rattling but it sure seems like it should because there is nothing holding it in place. I had the cat replaced a while ago. Could a mount have been deleted or was there never a mount there?

Nissan did not put a mount between the catalytic converter and the resonator. There is a mount about a foot before the cat and a mount after the resonator.

Thanks for the reply. It just seemed strange to have the pipe just lying on top of the crossmember.

Wow!!! Well sorry Dennis but the torsional mount is located between the Cat and the resonator and the exhaust safety brace is just aft of the resonator! Take it too an exhaust shop and have them reweld it!! Simple Solution!
