CV Shaft on 2000 5-Speed

Looking at the gold ring on the new CV shaft do you guys think the shaft is in far enough??

We pushed and pried and hammered for 30 minutes to get the shaft to this point. Uggggh. Don't get me started about pulling the old one. LoL.

I drove the car 20 miles and everything acts good so far but i'm concerned the CV isn't riding where it should.

that looks OK. The shaft can't be riding against the differential case because it would tear up the oil seal.

Cool.

The engineer in my head thought the gold ring would rotate around the seal but closer to it, to keep a little more dirt/dust out. Almost like a shingle effect.

I'll let it ride and check it from time to time.
