2002 maxima transmission fluid on dipstick

I dont know why but my transmission dipstick handle has transmission fluid on it? Its red.

It is a bit full on fluid. Its at the top of hot when cold.

Do I need a new dipstick? Anything else that can cause this issue? Thanks all

Are you checking the fluid with the engine running? What does it read with the fluid warm?

You need to warm the engine for at least 15-30 minutes by driving the car for a couple of blocks. Park the car on the level ground, while the engine is idling, pull out the transmission dip stick and check the transmission fluid level.

I think I put the dipstick in wrong. It had trouble going in. It is a bit overfilled. The transmission was warm when I did the reading. Engine running in park. Its just over the H mark when warm.

Will reinsert the dipstick and keep an eye on it. Might get a new o-ring for it as well as it prob has shrunk

Thanks for the reply
