Can anyone take a guess as to where all the oil is coming from? I have read on here that the o-ring in the oil cooler is a likely culprit, but that area looks fairly dry. Anyone have an idea? I may just end up replacing the cooler o-ring and hoping for the best.

 

I can't open the picture for some reason, but have you changed your oil recently? If so, I would check to make sure the old gasket it completely off.

 

Haven't changed it in about 5 months...I put very limited mileage on the car.

 

Spray the area with brake cleaner and drive around, check the area every day.

 

That appears to be either the Oil Pressure sending unit or that infamous oil cooler o' ring, when that happened most of us the oil did not appear to be coming from that area either and looked like in your pic.

 

Just hope it's not the oil pan gasket I'm going through that right now
it's sorta a pain because the y-pipe needs to come out so that means new gaskets :/

 

Make sure there isn't two gaskets on the filter.

 

oil cooler o ring, very common and cheap part and easy to fix. i would try that

 

I think I'll change the o ring and hope for the best.

 

keep us posted, it is prolly the culprit.
