Bluetooth OBDII scanner

Everything connects and everything is good, but it says it cannot connect to the car's ECU

is this a common problem?

I got this scanner

I'm returning that one. I'll get this one. Better reputation and good customer service

I concur with the second one above you posted. I have that one and it is golden. I've read that the others are rip offs and don't work well, if at all.

With some apps it's possible to edit things right? I know with Car Gauge you can advance and retard timing

Yes, it depends on which app you get. I went ahead and got the paid version of the Torque app, there is a lot of customization you can do. There is a free version also. I haven't played with it too much yet but I believe someone on here did advance their timing with it.

I have tried 3 different adapters and none have worked for me yet. They paired fine with my phone, but will not connect to the app. I have the paid version of torque pro and car gauge pro. All the ones I have tried have been <$10 ones from Ebay. Im using an HTC One. starting to give up hope lol. Anyone have an HTC and have a dongle that's working?

I was using this one and it worked well for a while with the Torque app on my Android phone, but last time I tried to use it (after 6 months of sitting in my glove box) my phone couldn't detect it.

There's been mixed reviews of it, some saying they're junk when they get them, some saying that they work (or worked for a while before going toast)

Thats what I use. However I am back on iPhone now and the apps aren't as strong as torque.
