This doesn't concern those of you in California & Texas, but for those up north & in Canada...

I have always bought winter blades for my cars to help with snow & ice. But with the Maxima having a driver's side wiper blade of 26", nothing seems to be available.

Anyone know of anyone that makes winter blades that will fit?

Thanks in advance...

Did some more research...

ANCO does not have a winter blade that will fit the Maxima. TRICO's largest winter blade is 24.5", which is pretty close. They are also available under the Carquest brand, so I bought a set yesterday (24.5" for the driver's side, 16" for the passenger).

The parts counter folks warned me that I may not like the larger winter blade. Due to the rubber boot surrounding the wiper, a winter blade is not as flexible as a normal blade. As the length of the blade increases, it becomes more difficult for the blade to maintain good contacts on the windshield.

I will probably install them one the snow arrives (~mid-December). I will post a follow-up on my experience.

Installed the Winter Blades last week.

The delay was due to the fact the larger blade (24.5") didn't come with a connector that would fit the Maxima wiper arm. The nice folks at the local CarQuest store stole a connector from a smaller blade, so I was able to attach both.

The set works nicely in snow, and follows the contours of the windshield as well as the OEM blades.

Same here with my blades. I went a size down on the driver side and a size up on the passenger side for both my summer bosche's and my winter wipers. NP

I have 24" on the driver's side and 16" on the passenger side from Canadian Tire. They work just fine. Drop over to Windsor with your big American dollar and pick up a set. They were about 20 bucks Canadian for the pair so that's about 30 cents American right?

what are the stock sizes? arent they 26" drivers and 17" passengers? I got 24" drivers and 17" passengers, but just found a place that sells Bosch 26" blades. Just want to make sure thats the size i need, short of taking a tape measure to them :-)

I had the same problem. I was lucky enough to find a helpful sales rep and he measured the oem blades and was able to find some to fit. I went with Anco (AeroVantage)26" for the drivers side and 17" for the passenger side and boy what a difference.

To answer your question....I highly recommend the Anco blades. They are excellent in both rain and snow and the windshield is crystal clear.
