Does anyone that had the ignition coils replaced under the TSB know if anything else was done, i.e. ECU reprogrammed? The service guy at the dealer I called was an a$$ and didn't want to look it up for me unless I brought it in and they charge me for diagnostics and other BS. I haven't been able to find it on here either. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, there's a post that describes it but not the actual TSB or the number.Originally posted by Menacer

Hmmm...try using the search and see what you come up with. I know there is one. Or you can ask on 5 speed owners. Maybe they can help.Originally posted by Sly

They did replace the coils at 38k, originally told me the 50 k emmission warranty covered them, but they called back later, and I had to pay labor, $90. Car dropped 5 miles per gallon on the hwy since, called back nissan yesterday to have another case opened for gas mileage drop. When I called the dealer before nissan after they were replaced, dealer just made excuses and did not ask me to bring in to check, which was all i wanted, just check the car! Looking back, from the way the car drives now (much better drivability) it is pretty obvious that they had been bad for a while but nobody would do much until the SES light came on. I am in the process of buying a car for my father, Camry, won't even test an Altima after this!!!

It is standard operating procedure for them to put you down for a diagnostics fee. If they find something wrong with your car and it is covered under warranty, the fee will be waived. I had the ignition coils replaced, I didn't say anything about the TSB. I told them my car was detonating and grabbed one of the mechanics with me on a test drive to prove it. This is the only way to get things fixed.... Grab one of the mechanics with you and show them what is wrong with your car.Originally posted by Sly

BTW My car is still detonating after the coils were replaced. I'm going back to the dealer soon. And be sure to put everything back to stock if you have any mods. They will use anything against you.
Thanks for the replies. This info should definitely help.
N1sMO, let me know what the dealer finds as to why you're still detonating. I'm real curious what they'll come up with..."bad gas"?!
Unfortunately, taking everything back to stock is not an option for me right now. It's very cold outside and I don't have access to a garage anymore.
