Hey all...my search has come up empty, so I am wondering if you can help me out. I just replaced my rear rotors, pads, and calipers. I now have a clicking noise equal to the rotation of the tire and the speed...so something is rubbing at a point in rotation. However...it stops when I apply the brake. Seems everyone else gets the clicking when they apply the brake...but mine goes away when I apply the brake.
As long as my foot is on the brake pedal...the clicking noise goes away. As soon as I let off the brake...its back. I checked for a loose connection or bracket somewhere, but couldn't find one. Any idea what would cause this or what to look for and check? Or is this something that will just go away once everything is worn in?

Iv got the same issue with my new brake hardware in the front however....clicking rolling at low speeds is audible with windows down..and it goes away depressing the brake. its been about 60 miles since new rotors/caliper/pad.

 

I'm assuming that you installed everything. I would simply remove everything, inspect the parts then re-install.

 

When you do that, make sure that the springs that are supposed pull the leading edge of the pad away from the rotor are installed properly - at the leading edge of the pad, not at the trailing edge of the pad.

 

Thanks so much for the help....but I had my mechanic do this for me (very minimal charge), since I do not have the necessary jacks to do brakes yet, so I cant remove everything, and inspect it myself. I guess I could take it back to him tomorrow and see what he thinks it is. If he is available, I will have him check out the leading edge of the pad, and report back.
