OEM or advance auto crankshaft sensor

Ive been having a lot of problems with my 01 maxima SE 25th ann edition..The car syopped running a while back and the mechanice replaced the crank pulley and sensor...Since then the car hasnt started without holding the gas down and hasnt kept running without warming it up a bit...

On top of that the car has prestty much run like sh@t! The car never ran this bad before...I know he replaced the Crank sensor with a sensor from either advance auto or auto zone...

I have heard alot of talk about these cars only liking original OEM dealer parts..I seems like to much of a coincidence that one the car came from the mechanic it was running this way when it started and ran pretty well before he installed the new crank sensor..

Could it possibly be that the part is not OEM?

Any input would be appreciated..
Thanks!

OEM seems to be the real deal and last so much longer...I replaced a Camshaft sensor that was 10 yrs old (original) with an O'Reilly unit...That replacement didn't last 1 year...I then replaced all sensors (cam and crank) with new OEM to be done with any more issues...You get what you pay for....

I get that you get what you pay for and that the parts last longer but can the aftermarket parts make the car run just the same of can they give you problems? Im trying to decide if the crank in the car should be replaced because its not working to the cars liking! However much sense that makes! But it appears from what I have heard that these cars may not run properly with the aftermarket parts also...Is that true?

maxima's are very very very picky, best bet is using OEM parts especially with electrical-related parts

go OEM buddy

honestly it is hit or miss, i've seen aftermarket work on a couple vehicles but sometimes the car doesn't like it & may run worse than before

with an OEM sensor its 100% it will work unless its a defective/damaged unit

cam sensor with small cracks

Below is a link to a picture on my cam sensor..Hopefully it works! The first picture is a pic of my cam sensor..I pulled it out today and although it tested good with the ohm meter I noticed little crack by the center core..They are to small to tell if they are cracks that go all the way threw the sensor or not or if they were there from manufacturing...Have any of you guys seen this before? Do you think its good or should I replace it?
I have the little cracks circled in blue with arrows..
