Be glad you received a letter from Nissan. At least they are being responsible about the issue.

I have two Honda vehicles that are effected by the Takata bag recall. So far no correspondence from them about it and the dealer doesn't want to be bothered.

Ive got a 2003 Max and got the recall, friend with a 2002 TL has got it too, apparently an airbag manufacturer many japanese companies used designed exploding canisters...

I got my first notice from my local dealer August 2013. Maybe they're doing phases?

This is what I like about our brand. They may not be the most advertised out there but theyre the most up front about this serious issue. This was from consumer reports as you can see, not a nissan biased site.

This and the fact my max is the first car in my family that has outlived 150000 miles without serious issue and good maintenece. Volks 1970 karmann ghia, 1995 toyota tercel, 1980 mustang 2, 1990 plymouth acclaim, 2000 subaru outback, 1992 Mercury Sable, this is the only car still alive, 2003 Nissan Maxima 164536

2002 GLE. I do get my oil changed at the local dealer so they have my information which may have had an impact.

No, just saying the Max outlived it. The toyota I have now is having serious problems, 07 Rav 4 V6 110k miles and so far countless recalls and times in the shop for misellaneous annoyances my Max hasnt given me so far.

you can say byebye to your engine if you don't address them at your mileage

& from my knowledge Nissan won't warn you unless you are in their NissanUSA/Canada database, dealer information doesn't get you a letter in the mail, just notification if you go in for service
