2001 maxima SE 20TH annv Noise issue
Hi 1st post here. I have a 2001 maxima SE 20TH annv Noise issue.
Here's whats going on when i,m driving sounds like tire noise
sound gets louder at higher speeds almost like a motor revving up
very smooth and really follows the motion of the car as if it was a tire issue
the car has 194,000 miles and here what i,ve tested and replaced
sounds is not there when i rev the car in park, tried getting the car up to a speed where the noise was put the car in neutral and the sound stayed the same
tranny shifts very good seems to have no issues, once again my first guess was tires or bearings
here what i,ve replaced so far
NEW Bearings all 4 wheels
NEW Shocks springs and mounts all 4 wheels
NEW CV Shaft whole shaft
NEW tie rods complete new front end
New 70 Thousand mile tires "fire stone"
Four wheel alignment car drive great now most of these needed replaced
looked at motor mounts there not horrible but i,m sure they need replaced
and there electronically controlled so nice and exspensive
anyway just trying to get some ideas
Thanks Rob in Arizona

A "droning" or bearing like noise starts to become audible as the bushings in the rear suspension wear.
The other source of the noise can be tailpipe contact with the body somewhere along the line. It doesn't necessarily need to cause a rattle.
