Axle question!

Hello all. I'd like to apologize in advance for beating the same dead axle horse. But I search and can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for. I've had 2 Maximas with this same exact problem a 4th gen and my 5th gen. Passenger side cv went bad. Went ahead and purchased an autozone axle. Installed it. MY CAR IS LOWERED ABOUT 1.75 inches. Since the axle replacement, I'm getting the same thumping noise under load and turning left that everyone gets with a bad axle. THUMPING GETS WORSE THE LOWER THE CAR IS. FOR EXAMPLE WHEN I HAVE PASSANGERS ITS PRETTY DAM LOUDER. I raise the suspension up a little bit, noise goes away. Same problem with both cars with new axles. Anyone have axle thumping or noise on a new axle and a car that is lowered???????? Any idea what axle I can buy that won't make any noise regardless of how low the car is???? Maybe raxles???? Any input or questions are gladly appreciated. Thank you.
-Edgar

Are you convinced it's the axle and not something else? You say it makes the same sound with the new axle as it did before.

I have same situation.....I cn only surmise it's the knuckles bottoming out. I just slap new ones in when it gets too bad. They are cheap on Amazon. I've taken my old ones , and have considered shortening the shaft a little.

I know that almost everywhere except a few places who sell are axels are not the same as oem. They're missing dampeners on each side. Most after market axels don't come with them. Only the places that remanufacture oem axels are you going to get the same ride quality. Or 500 at Nissan.

Yes. Def the axle. Or something that's part of it, and no it never did it with the factory axles. Both my Maximas I replaced the passanger side axles be the boots were torn. Not because of any noise or thump. I used the new axles, one from advance and the other from autozone and as soon as I got them installed , both cars gave me the same problem.

No Sir.....respectfully disagree. Most every aftermarket axle has the rubber dampener crimped right to the shaft. All I have ever bought has had them. They are not balanced, not even OEM....what you are seeing are harmonic dampeners....not balancers.

So where do you guys recommend I get an axle from??Had my car not been lowered I wouldn't have a problem. But I need an axle that's just like the oem one. And my 5th gen is an anniversary edition. I'm assuming it'll be tough to find one in a junk yard lol.

When I had to change my axles in 2013 due to some bad CV joints, I emailed raxles and they replied they no longer had them for my '00 M/T.

Went with some Autozone replacements. No problems so far. I'm at stock height though...

Sorry, your previous post implies that the dampeners balance and that is why he is having issues. If that wasn't the point you were getting to, then what was the point of your post?

My point was that the dampeners provide a better ride and help to curb vibrations. Without them the ride is not the same as with them.
