Crankshaft position sensor

I have a 2002 maxima with a 3.5L out of a Nissan Quest. I still have the original transmission. I only swapped out the engine. My transmission has half of the hole for the crankshaft sensor to go in but the engine block doesn't have a hole for it. Should I just drill out a hole to plug the sensor in? I hate how it takes about 7 seconds for the car to start and it's also embarrassing when people stare at you when it doesn't want to start. Thanks for the help.

You can drill it, but the upper oil pan should have been swapped with the one from the old engine.

I honestly don't remember doing that. I think we just bolted the tranny to the engine and then installed it. I wanna just get another engine with a 6 speed tranny but they're so expensive. They cost equivalent to what my car is worth.

If you want to manual swap...then you might as well buy a whole parts car. The only difference between any of the motors that matters for install is the upper oil pan.

And I hope you trashed the cats when you did the swap or you will be doing it, again.
