Weight Reduction

Get lightweight wheels, they'll pay themselves off. And get a haircut.
Obvious items are spare/jack/tools. Just hope you don't need them on the way home

You're going to love it. Very noticeable difference. It'll feel like you just dropped your friends off and now you're the only one in the car.
The 3.0 doesn't have the heavy flywheel of the 3.5 so it's not as important for those cars.

Light weight wheels and light flywheel will make a big difference but neither option is cheap. I once swapped tires for some that were about one pound heavier and I could feel the difference. Rotating mass is a b!tch.
There's really not much you can remove that would be worth it. These cars are already pretty light for their size. When I used to go to the drag strip I would remove the jack, spare, floor mats and make sure I was at less than 1/4 tank of gas.

I gained somewhere in 15-20% range in MPG's when I went w/ LW wheels.
