How much am I expecting for labor?

It has been a little more than 5 years when I got my 5.5 gen. Found out recently that my rack and pinion is leaking, throw out bearing is going, cv axle need to be replaced, motor mounts are shot and a bad hub bearing. I already got all the parts in hand, I just need to bring it to a shop to install it. The first shop I went to quoted me $1,500, is that what i should be expecting or is it a little excessive for just labor?

Parts that I got are

Napa reman rack and pinion
Both driver and passenger side cv axle
OEM power steering pressure hose and return hose
OEM Master and slave cylinder
OEM Throw out bearing and fork
SS clutch line
Moog Outer Tie rod , endlinks, and lower control arm
SKF Hub and bearing assembly
Energy Suspension Motor mount, subframe bushing, front sway bar bushing
Jim Wolf Technology Clutch and flywheel

I bet someone would tell you over 1,500 and closer to 2. You better find a discount rate.

If you're disassembling all that...I sure don't see headers in the list. Steering rack shmeering rack.

I don't know exactly how much all that would cost, but $1,500 sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

Thanks for the input and opinion, if $1,500 is what is worth then I'm not too upset about the price.

While they're in there you may as well have them replace the rear main seal. If it's not leaking yet it probably will be soon. It is some extra work but with the tranny already out it makes sense.

If the labor cost also includes the main seal that's even better. Even with the tranny out they still have to pull the Y-pipe and both oil pans.

One more thing. Make sure they use a good RTV on the oil pans since they don't use gaskets. The main seal will come with some RTV but I'd spend the money on a tube of Hondabond and bring it in.

that car should last you a while since you are putting a good bit of work into it.
