2002 -- SES, SLIP and TC OFF -- wtf
2002 -- SES, SLIP and TC OFF -- wtf
So started with torn boot on the coupler going from TB to maf, cleaned maf fixed tear in coupler, drove great for a week, went and got gas today omw back I goosed it at a stop sign, went to 2500rpm and wam, no power and was shuddering like I was hitting a limiter, lights immediately came on cel, tc off and slip, so I limped home and immediately ran code scan manually, got p1130, and p1614 - only worried about the p1130, but do u think a faulty MAF would cause this issue, I've been reading the bulitens and forums all day and idk, I'm going to pick up a junkyard MAF tomorrow and start with that, but I suppose I run a chance of that being bad also, what's the link on here that shows symptoms of dead and damage MAFs?
5.5s are so sensitive Compared to the 4th gens...sheesh

OK now I'm reading that slip/tc off and ses could be bad alternator also... Guess I'll have to check that also. And grounds, I just find it strange that it happened all of the sudden...I'm still reading threads...my wife keeps looking at me like *your on those forums....still?*
haha, keep sifting though the threads and broken links and you'll eventually find what you're looking for
i was thinking some combination of those lights pointed to the wheel speed sensors ? not for sure though

The codes don't make sense. There is no swirl control valve (couldn't find anything related to a different meaning for 3.5s). And obviously the car is running, so the NATS code is retarded.
I would swap maf and reset ECU. See what codes/lights (if any) come back.

I'm going to try that tomorrow, the MAF housing looks in good shape, so just gonna look for the conductor part in the middle and try that as well as an alt test, will update tomorrow.
Update
junkyards didn't have anything, so I ordered a MAF sensor off eBay, went with the ****ty 6N200 for like 30$, Atleast if that fixes the problem temporarily, I'll then know what I need to replace before I 100$ myself to death.
Working 70hrs/wk so don't have time to do ****, but I was reading that incorrect amps coming from alternator could mess with the MAF, is that true?

Ok I'll check that, I was reading there's a way u can test it by unhooking the battery while it's running, I have a volt meter too, just have to check and see what the correct volts should be coming from the alternator.
Again, symptoms are:
2500 Max rpm
Slip / track off
Ses light
Fluctuating rpms 250-700 while in park
I checked coils they all test good, plugs are good, recently all I did was unplug sub woofer amp (in process of fixing that relay) and right after that it had these problems.

Update on codes,
Hooked everything back up to the way it was before I had issues, had the bat unhooked for two days, these are the codes
P0102 - MAF
P1456 - EVAP
P1131 - no clue why I'm getting this code.
So I'm hoping just swapping MAF will do the trick and cure my issues. Few more days till that gets here.

It was a pain to diagnose because I had multiple codes but once I figured out the symptoms (tsb) I just went with cheapest fix first, now I know it was the MAF and it only cost me 19$ shipped for an eBay MAF, now I am going to go the 2001 MAF with the IAT swap.
