Huge loss of power

So lately i noticed my car had a huge loss of power having a really big exhaust leak i thought it was that but then the leak was fixed and the problem is still there. I just ordered obx r headers but i want to fix this power problem before installing them any ideas are helpful (the car has new plugs)

Perhaps headers will solve the problem

Where do you feel the loss of power most? Does it feel less responsive? Does it feel like it's running rough or uneven?

^^ and yeah, no more pre-cats.

I'm also curious where the power loss is and if there are other issues.

Is it running like crap or does it just feel like a four cylinder Camry?

Well the obx r headers are on the way they have been ordered i just want to know my problem before i put them in.. The car feels like a camry maybe worse! Very slugish i can push the pedal to the floor and i barey feel a jump! Even when down shifting! I do need an oil change but doing it saturday, i feel like its maf related since my mechanic friend told me he was going to clean it and the way he cleaned does really match how the "how to" stickie thread shows

Also idle seems fine the car isnt rough or uneven just feels like im driving a stock miata!

This may sound crazy but check to make sure the brake lights aren't staying on. I had a similar issue when the stopper on the pedal broke and left the brake lights on. The computer cuts the throttle when the brakes are applied and reads it form the brake light switch. The car drove perfectly but felt exactly like a weak 4 cyl.

I doubt this is your problem since it's been going on for a while and you haven't noticed the lights. It's easy enough to rule out though. It had me stumped till I closed the garage door but I would have noticed at night.

So i did oil february( which i have been told the one i got is **** for our cars) i have new oil waiting to go in but i want to put the car on the lift so i can have a full check up on it and thats being done on Saturday, spark plug and boots were put in 1 month ago, clutch and fly wheel done February. I did add the NWP BOP recently but im not sure its the problem. I did extent my intake so the filter sits behind headlight so i might of just blew my MAF? Im at the point where i think its a vacuum leak, MAF and oil. I have a pretty ghetto rig for my intake while i wait for my CGR intake

thermostat was also done last month

Actually my brake lights were just recently changed

Did you reset the ecu after you did the repair? It's possible that it's running ignition and fuel timing that was used for the broken exaust being that there's no way for the ecu to even know if you fixed anything or not.

What kind of plugs went in? I know these cars are pickey about plugs, my max was misfiring on all cylinders because the previous owner used Bosch plugs and they were still new.
