Tints For 2000 Max

G'day all!

I'm planning to have the dealer install tints this summer. The color of the car is Sunlit Sand. Just wondering what is a good color tint and should I tint all windows the same % or darker in the back?

Thanks in advance!

Keep the same % all the way around. It looks best IMO. At least 20% too.

20% is really really dark. And in most states illegal. Yes I have it also, but just letting people know before they get it put on and risk have it removed by their DMV or MVA.

I have Solar Gard 6% all around and it looks mighty sweet. Course, here in AZ dark tint is a necessity.

I had 5% limo tint on my Mercedes once, and it was impossible to see at night out from the inside of the car.

6%??? What kind? limo? smoke? mirror?

Make sure you get something of high quality; I got 20% all around on my 2k2SE and it looks sweet.. you'll get looks from everyone if you get it looking nice and dark. Also, they have film that has a metallic compound in it.. it'll prevent the tint from fading, and you usually get a lifetime warranty with it.. cause you know.. if your tint starts to turn purple, people will laugh..

6% smoke. I can see perfect day or night. I had the exact same tint on my IS300 and it was very difficult to see at night. I think the windows have a factory tint of some sort. But hey, on the maxi 6% works great!

just curious, for those of you that have a 2k+ max, is your back window done all the way? mine is just done up to the "bumps" on the top, and i accidentally made it peel a little bit, and its pretty annotying to have to look at in the rearview mirror. should my guy have done the whole thing?

I got 35% all the way around. I wanted darker but didnt want to give the cops another reason to pull me over. Too much time on I95. Still looks pretty dark and reflective. Lifetime warranty . They tinted the whole back window.

i have 5% limo black in back and 50% on the fronts on my sunlit sand. it is kind of hard to see at night when im backing up but otherwise i have no problems with it. i kind of wish i had gone with like 20% all around because i think it would look better if all the windows matched, you cant even tell my fronts are tinted compared to the black rears. also 5% looks very black, my car really stands out when parked next to a normal car.

I had mine done below the "bumps" and can't tell. The guy did a good clean job.

I have a 20% bronze tint.

Try doing a search about tints, cause I know that this has come up in the past. I have Llumar 35% and it's great. I couldn't go darker because our laws are too strict. They just outlawed any kind of blue lights on cars, whether they be parked at your own house with them on, or driving with them on. Stupid laws.

I went 35% all around, which is the legal limit in my state. It looks great on the Gray Lustre with charcoal interior. If you are Sunlit Sand with frost interior (I assume), 30% might be acceptable...but anything darker will be obviously illegal...I'm fairly confident. If your interior were charcoal, you could stick with 35%. I like a 30% or 25% tint, don't get me wrong, but if you have hard-a$$ police in your area...you ARE going to get nailed.

I went with Titanium Gray tint...no mirror.

I have 35 on sides and 20 on the back. I really like that split, without getting to dark on the sides.

Check the link in my sig for pics.

They didn't cover the black dots on the rear window, but you can't tell from the outside.
