Trans swap

Me and a buddy of mine found a 01Ae for parts... How long will it take to pull the trans? I know it has a lsd trans which is better than an open diff. We are on a time schedule so how can this be done efficiently?

I know the vq35 took me less than an hour to take it out

Okay got everything swapped but I want to put fresh fluid in it because the old fluid is real dark! What the proper and best fluid to use?

Okay I've read and heard that valvoline multi import is good. I want the best fluid I can get and I will be draining again within 3000 miles. Trans has 180k, shifts good but the fluid was horrible

I bought trans fluid for mine at Nissan. It was very reasonable, considering GL4 is getting harder and harder to come by.

Don't want to make a second thread on the topic, but I'm considering swapping transmissions as I don't want to spend $400 on a new solenoid pack when it might even fix the issue. Not gonna do a manual swap or anything, just want to find a low mileage 4AT that I can get for cheap. My car has been in the rust belt (Wisconsin) its whole life, so is there anything that will need more attention? Thanks.

You don't need to spend that much on solenoid packs.....but ur right it might not fix the problem anyway.....save for rebuild bro and do it right IMO,while they are at it might wanna add some goodies too like A cooler and valve body mod.... good luck

I wouldn't put GL4 in an auto.

If you really want an upgrade in your 6-speed then ditch the Nissan fluid for some Redline MT90. I refilled mine with Nissan fluid in a pinch and noticed a real loss in shifting smoothness. As soon as I went back to the MT90 it started shifting smoothly again.

I guess we should have figured out whether OP has a manual or auto first...
