Need some noob help.

Hey guys! Just got my car this week. 02 SE 6 speed. Anyways, the car has the SES light on. I ran it through my scanner and got the following codes: P0057 and P0102. Do these normally relate? I'm pretty sure the MAF is screwed. It was driving fine for a few days and then today it started not allowing me to go above 2500 RPM's (bucking like a freaking bull). It's idling rough and stalling (not often but randomly). It currently has a spectre CAI with their adapter for the MAF on it. My question is, do you think the MAF is shot? Second, would the following be ok to purchase and drop back in? http://www.carparts.com/details/Niss...9YEaAr3E8P8HAQ

The ones at advance are crazy money.

Thanks guys! Sorry, I know its been covered a lot.. I just was a little confused.

Unfortunately, it's OEM MAF or nothing. OE replacements will not function well or last very long, if at all.

Not being able to rev above 2500 is the cars Limp Mode to protect the engine when a sensor fails. I haven't searched your cods since I'm on my phone, but a failing MAF almost always causes the car to go into Limp Mode. Makes the car run extremely rich as well in this mode, so yeah, it's rough and smokey.

IMO, I'd go back to the stock intake and clean your MAF. (Look up the proper way to clean it on the forums here). If you're still having problems, it'll be worth going to pick a part or eBay for a used MAF from one of our cars.

The p0057 is an o2 sensor code. Could be bad and need replaced. The p0102 is the MAF code. I have both these codes on my turbo Max, (although my car doesn't have some of the old sensors and has alternative stuff and no cats, so I have no driving problems) but I do believe these codes very well may be related.

Many of us have had very good results with this Hitachi MAF. It's a lot less than the dealer too. If you shop around you may even find it cheaper.

Any part from Hitachi is going to work well on our cars and be much cheaper than the dealer.
