03 Maxima pre-cats failing

Hi guys, im new to the forum. I ride an 03 Maxima SE. I love the car but have just ran into my first minor problem.

The pre-cats are failing and the SES light is blinking. I know the cats have been failing for a awhile, my throttle response has been getting worse and worse and now the engine is running rough. I know a good amount about engines but havent really messed with the VQs at all. So now i Have found a good price on a full exhaust header kit, http://www.protuninglab.com/hds-na02v6.html, that will remove both pre cats.
I dont have to worry about emissions because i drive in florida..yayy! but i also know the commute i do will be louder but i really wont mind that. what i am concerned about is that i figure if i do run without pre cats my SES light will stay on. Is there any fix to not have the SES trip on because of emissions? like trick the ecu into thinking the emissions is ok?

Thanks guys!

yes. 02 simulators. I bought mine on eBay for 50 bucks each. You will need 2.
I punched out my pre cats and running simulators with no check engine light.

If i remember correctly, the Altima headers require the collector flanges to be re-positioned. Someone should be able to clarify.

**edit**

just did a bunch of reading. Apparently the 95-01 headers will fit on the 02-03, you just have to plug the egr port as the 02-03 don't have the same egr setup.

If your SES light is blinking you better check the code because if it is a misfire code you'll definitely ruin the precats if you've kept driving the car.
