I have what seems to be a loose hood, meaning when driving down the highway i can see it rattle just enough to make noise. The latch seems fine.

Are there supposed to be bumpers or something along the sides of the engine compartment that the hood rests on?

Member nestorlugo has a stockpile of new ones for some reason. They work though

 

btw allot of cars will fit so if you're ever in a junkyard just grab some nice ones.
Mine are from some random car.
