Is my tranny dead?

Wazzup guys, hope you guys can help with some input.
00 max gle, almost 200k. Car does nothing in any gear. Did some research and found out about worn splines and open differential. Did the jacking up the car to spin the wheels thing, but only 1 would spin at a time. Changed the pass side axle a while back so that's the first I took out to check the splines bc after I had changed it, I would get a jerking motion when I drive and would have to easy off the gas for it to stop. Happens every now n then. So I got it out the splines weren't worn, but a few of then looked slightly "shaved". Reinstalled and car is still the same, not even a nodge when u shift thru the gears. 1 thing that has me concerned is the noise I get from the tranny when I put it in P to turn off the car. Kinda sounds like when u pull up the hand break, this would only happen in P. I have to put in N to turn off then P bc Idk what the hell that noise is and don't want to do any more damages. Tomorrow I have to do the driver side axle to check those splines.
Oooo by the way, I can push the car while its in P like if it's in N, yeaaa! lol.

Tranny fluid is fine, although I need to change it.
Fuses are good
I got codes for misfire and O2.

See the shiny edges on the splines?

Dan, those shiny edges likely are from when you slid the shaft out of the transaxle. There isn't something that engages with those splines that could be out of adjustment and causing problems -- the shaft slides into a splined spot (say that a few times...) and stays there.

I'm going to guess that what you are describing would result in an absolute smooth splineness shaft where they all broke off or was ground smooth.

Could you post a link to this worn splines thing you speak of? I can't find anything.

What you're describing with the noise in "park" sounds more like an internal problem than anything else. Oddly enough a friend of mine had the same thing go wrong with her car a few weeks ago.

Yea, that's what I meant Murph. Like they broke off so there is nothing to grab and spin the axle.
THink it was on this site I saw the reference to the splines being broken. But then some dude posted a black Friday sale on his parted car and all hell broke loose. Then the thread went off topic.

If it's something in internal I don't want to waste my time taking out the driver side axle.

Do you know what was the out come of your friend's car?

O ok.. seems like whatever it is, it's internal. Which means I have to take it to a shop. Should've gotten rid of it a while ago, now I might have to try to sell it with a broken tranny.
