Did you check the actual switch at the pedal arm?

Changing the brake lights will not fix your issue, the bulb has nothing to do with the operation of the brake pedal. My guess would be the actual switch on the pedal. If that does not fix it, you might need to do some electrical diagnosis. See if the switch is getting power, and then find the wire that runs along the car and test in various spots for the same signal. Once you find it has no signal, work backwards to find the broken wire.

I think the solenoid is right there by the shifter near where your knee would rest.
If you pull the console you can access the solenoid and bypass it to at least get the car moving.

Is my brake stopper missing? Noticed brake lights not working when I’m town today. Shifter also stuck. I had my brake shifter replaced. Brake lights worked but shifter still stuck. Next stop I noticed brake lights not coming on again. I cannot tell if the stopper missing by reading the thread and looking at the photos. I’m adding photos of mine w/brake pedal pressed and not pressed. Thank you all so much!

Yes, all you need is that little plastic stopper that plugs into the hole on the metal arm. The same thing has happened in the last year on my maxima with both the clutch and brake pedals, so I bought like 8 of those stoppers for the future. They're very cheap from Nissan. In the interim, you can fold duct tape over into a square a bunch of times until it's thick enough then tape that square the arm so it pushes on the switch.

If the plastic stopper on the brake pedal falls out, the brake lights will be on all the time. The brake lights not lighting up is something else, possibly a bad fuse.
