What is the difference in the stock Y pipe and the aftermarket?
Is the after market wider?

Stillen has it on their site for $395 (but you can get lower) and Cattman has on their site for $400. Im not gonna say Warpspeeds price for the 5th gen because IT DOESN'T EXIST

As far as quality, the Cattman is the only one which is 100% stainless steel so it will tend to resist rust/corrosion the longest. It is also the most expensive. There is no performance difference between brands.

You can purchase either 2.5" y-pipe's or 3" y-pipe's. The 3" would only really be your choice if you are boosted (supercharger). You are replacing the stock y-pipe which includes pre-cats intended to help reduce CO emissions from your exhaust and meet ULEV and NLEV requirements for low emissions. The aftermarket y-pipe's eliminate those pre-cats and provide for a more freely breathing exhaust. Once your engine is warmed up, the stock catalytic converter can handle keeping your car within the legal limits so you will pass an emissions test with the aftermarket y-pipe.

Non supercharged, should I just go with 2.5, or will the 3 get me more hp?

Get the 2.5
If you get the 3" you'll probably lose power due to not enough exhaust flowing. Boosted engines have more exhaust flow, which a 3" pipe is good for.

The 2.5". I think its accurate to say that the 3" would relieve too much backpressure and without forced induction (like a supercharger), you would loose a great deal of torque without that pressure. The 2.5" is intended for non-forced induction applications.

Re: I want a Y-PIPE now!

everyones number is on there web page under the link section. go to aftermarket parts then look up the company...catman, stillin, budget or warpspeed. I think warpspeed is the cheapest.

What's cheap? How much?

If you are willing to pay $399, visit http://www.cattman.com.
If you are willing to pay $395, visit http://www.stillen.com.
If you are willing to pay $225-$299, visit http://www.warpspeedperformance.com.

According to Warp Speed's web site, the VQ y-pipes are still in pre-production, but you could call and check it out.
