Just heard from my dealer that the Rebate has been extended which is good news for those of us with Maximas on the way.

 

Here's the posting for Maxima's February $1000 rebate from http://www.carsdirect.com :

Customer Rebate: Customers must take delivery by 2/28/02. Please read for important information. :
• Customer Rebate: Customers must take delivery of this vehicle prior to the expiration date to be eligible for this manufacturer rebate. This rebate may not be available on special factory orders or used in conjunction with special manufacturer financing or leasing programs. Other special financing programs may be available. Please ask your Vehicle Specialist for details.

If you guys could help I'm a little confused on the terms of the rebate.

1.) Does "special factory orders" mean if you ordered your car say in November and it's due to arrive in Feb. your not quallifed for the rebate or are you?

2.) Or does it mean if you order your car in Feb. you can not use the $1000 as part of your downpayment?

3.) Also one other question does this apply to newly financed or newly leased vehicles?

 

originally i thought the rebate wouldnt be applicable to the 6 speeds many people have on order but apparently i was wrong. many people got the rebate on their 6 speeds that were delivered in january. i dont think those count as factory ordered because they arent really ordered directly from the factory. in those cases the factory jst made whatever they wanted then nissan finds a car that meets your criteria a to you. if you ordered a car in november and you get it this month (my exact situation) then you should be eligible for the rebate
