Lower Rad Support

For those that already replaced the tie bar, did you have to remove any or the A/C components?

lower radiator support? Tie bar im thinking rear suspension.
Yeah I removed both radiator&fans + AC condenser.
By removing these you will have more clearance to carefully drill the inner welds that attaches the thing to the subframe.
Why you going to perform this on a 5th gen ?

Unless it has started to collapse and it’s sinking/completely destroyed, I wouldn’t worry about it. Mine has a 5 inch hole, but it was still able to support the car when being jacked up. Obviously I don’t jack it up there anymore, but it means it still has integrity. I’m not replacing it until it absolutely needs to be done

Good choice! I did mine last year and afterwards the hood now is solid instead of vibrating at highway speeds.
check out Conicelli parts for a nice price on that! You can just replace the lower section and either bolt it on or weld. Obviously welding around wires, sensors, ect, is not really smart.
What I did was bought truck bed paint and coated it to prevent further corrosion
