--States it wants Maxima to compete w/ Toyota Avalon? This makes me wanna sell my car & get the 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII-- click on this link. I know all you have a Maxima but like what russ it going thru is thru-- crappy service, to top that $hitty paint they use, cant even start my fuc%ing car in the cold w/o trouble--- it only has 14k miles, by the time it has 60k it going to look like a $hitbox that doesnt start-- As you can tell I'm pretty ****ed that I bought a $27k+ car & its already not living up to its expectations.....

You and I are in the EXACT SAME boat! Even the same color car.

I hope I can get my finances inorder by the time the EVO VII makes to the US. One thing I question about Mistu is why in the HELL don't they turbocharge the 2.5L, but with that kind of power/quickness I guess they don't have too.

Add me to the list of future Evo VII owners. I do have my eye on the 350Z as well.

Bloated cow is the word that comes to mind. After I sell my max we're gonna concentrate on our golf. A few years down the road I'll be picking up a WRX or WRX STI if they make one. I've got some concerns about mistu motors after reading all about the crankwalk that the 2nd gen eclipses had.

I don't even have my 2K2 HLSD Max yet and I'm already thinking about a EVO VII as future car. I'm nearly certain that the Maxima will become a fat, bloated, slob of a car with a a reasonably powerful engine, but way too much weight and the handling prowess of a wet noodle.

Man, you said exactly what's been on my mind. Only thing, I can't think of a car I want!

Srew Mitsubishi, just like subaru the horsepower will be way down. Where I come from subarus come out with 280+. Over here due to emission regs they dropped it to 220 or somthing. If you want a crappy buzz box buy a subaru wrx or a mitsu evo they don't have the quality of the max!!!!

I don't know man, I don't think that you are giving the guy enough credibility. Most of his information on the other cars are right on and seem to be unbiased as well. If you check out his reports on other upcoming models, you can see that in many cases, he's got the same info as many of the car mags and he's also got some credible photos of test mules...

Those pics of the Maxima (which everyone says is a Photoshopped Opel) don't look completely unconvincing in terms of possibility. It shares a similar flavor to the design of the Altima, which I guess is good for corporate identity.

the maxima already does compete with avalon:

NISSAN MAXIMA SE (AUTO) TOYOTA AVALON XL BENCH

Capacity (gal) 18.5 18.5
Overall length (in) 191.5 191.9
Overall width (in) 70.3 71.7
Overall height (in) 56.7 57.7
Wheelbase (in) 108.3 107.1
Front track (in) 60.2 61
Rear track (in) 59.8 60
Headroom front (in) 40.5 38.7
Headroom rear (in) 37.4 37.9
Hip room front (in) 55.3 55.2
Hip room rear (in) 53.7 55.1
Leg room front (in) 44.8 41.7
Leg room rear (in) 36.2 40.1
Shoulder room front (in) 56.9 58.4
Shoulder room rear (in) 56.2 58.1
Interior volume (cuft) 102.5 106.6
Curb weight (lbs) 3261 3428

They're pretty much the same in dimensions except for a inch here and there. From what I head Goshn wants the next maxima to compete with 5 series but for around $10K-15K less. So I'm thinking it will have the 4L V8 with 300hp, rwd (AWD??), and 6 speed manual (5 speed manumatic). And why would Nissan want to compete with the Avalon(Toyota's Buick???)? Nissan is going after the performance buyers not the ones who see a car as something that takes them from point A to B.

Well my friends, one of these pictures is in fact an Opel vectra. If you do not beleive me, go at www.opel.com, and look for the Vectra model, and click on the gallery tab.... Many beautiful picture of the Vectra there... Convinced now?

Hey, all I'm saying is that you guys keep bashing this guy who has legitimate information on other cars. So he took a chance with the Maxima and posted what could have been legitimate pictures..

Besides, You'll notice that he took the Maxima stuff off of his main page.
