Type of intake plastic

My air intake has a break in it. A shop broke it and never told me. I found it like 2yrs later. You cant break it w/out knowing and it ticks me off. They also broke the plastic housing on the big wiring connector by the starter....these 2 things were both broken when they did my starter replacement. Never new until later. Not critical parts,,,,but still irks me.

I tried gorilla glue on the air intake. It held for quite a while. Then it came apart again. Read on gorilla site of plastic types it is not recommended for. I have no idea what type of plastic our air intake parts are made of. Anyone know this? I want to try gorilla glue again and may need a diff version.

The break is on the part that connects the intake to the bracket that goes to the strut mount. On this pic below it is to the right of MAF connector and has yellow arrow pointing due left to it and marked "remove". Also has a bolt thru it. Sorry...but don't know how to mark up the picture I found on the internet.

I just threw two airboxes away...b/c useless item lol

You want to use two part epoxy that says it's for plastic and sandpaper the joint.

e6000 is more commonly known as "Shoe Goo". They put the same stuff in about 10 differently named tubes, but it's all the same adhesive. And it would work for this.

How much are his intakes? I have always wondered why he doesn't advertise them on his website.

....ummm...well...I unfortunately live in the rust area and this car is my daily driver and putting that effort into it is not worth it. I wish I could have stored this car every winter when it was 4yrs old when I got it. Running good but 18 yrs is showing age. This car takes a lot of babysitting to keep rust from overtaking it. I rinse it off 4-7 days a week all winter long....what a pain.

Again, I wish I could have stored this car in winter.

Just hit the U-Pull-It yard and find one there. These aren't parts that normally break so it should be easy to find them.

That's a good start and that was gonna be my next suggestion as well (same as above #9 reply)...My question is why didn't you look there first anyway? Maybe before posting this...

The intake is not broken and is held down with 3 bolts I believe and the attachment bracket that IS broken also has other usable bolts holding IT down. So the system is not compromised, but like I initially stated, it is not critical. I just want it fixed.

A mechanic that supposedly knows more than I do was careless enough to break two pieces of my car and do nothing. I want to fix it.

A junkyard for my issue is not worth the time. The intake is just fine.

The only thing I really wanted to know was the type of plastic compound. That will put me on my merry way...
