If you have a Manual Trans

Could you look at the number on your ECU (on the main face should look a little like A56-R00 ZC1)? Trying to find one on eBay without spending $200 and hardly anyone lists transmission type but they all have the number

No hardware differences between the two?

Autos have CAN and engine mounts. After flashing the ECU, it won't care if those signals are present

How about $150 shipped for this one? It's pulled from a 2003 6 speed Maxima.

I meant the circuit board itself, there's ecus for less than $50 shipped it would be nice if that would work or if the junker I get the engine harness from offers me a decent price for both gotta wait til Monday they were all closed today

Nearest junkyard with a manual 02/03 is 3.5 hours away and I don't feel like wasting another day making a trip back there I did it once already wish I could've got this crap then

That's what I'm talking about too, the Auto ECUs have the necessary transistors/resistors/chip for those inputs/outputs. If you flash a manual ROM onto an Auto ECU it just won't use those components. It won't care that they are there.

Bingo, that's just what I needed I looked up that number on eBay and got plenty of results for under $50 thank you, I spent 3.5 hours driving to pull everything for a full 3.5 swap and didn't bring the right socket for the heatshield on the engine harness and it was 95 and ridiculously humid and I had been pooling sweat removing the dash harness and several other things and was getting sick from the heat so I called it a day and went home. $35 from there for the ECU I regret not picking it up figured I'd get it with the matching key but since realized I can reprogram it myself for the cost of the car to plug into the PC. Now if I can get the engine harness for around $100 instead of some of the absurd $250 price tags I've seen I'll feel a lot better about that day. Removing an engine harness takes 45min at most and costs $35-40 at a do it yourself yard

I'm just skeptical that it wouldn't be compatible have you ever actually done it or heard of someone doing it? I found manuals for the lower $40-50 price tags using the number from that picture so it doesn't really matter now but I do appreciate the idea though

I haven't done it myself. It's been done without reflashing, of course that means there'd be codes. Reflash would fix that up.
