What are the best front brake pads and rotors for an 02 Maxima/I-35

Ok so for a while my stearing wheel, front end, and brake pedal have been shaking upon an abrupt stop. I was told that I had a warped rotor..
Im looking to install front rotors and pads, and would appreciate someone with experience to direct me to the best quality in store hardware. i have looked at duralast(AutoZone) and BrakeBest(Oreily),
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

02Infinitii35,
Ever since I bought my 2002 Maxima I have been using Brembo Rotors. I just replaced all four rotors last year and I am currently using Bosch Pads. In the past I have used Hawk Pads which were also pretty good. I ordered all of the equipment from AutohausAZ.

Thanks, but Im looking for something available in store. I'm thinking of the Duralast high carbon from Autozone.

I recommend Akebono ProAct ceramic pads. They rock.

From what I've read, 6th gen equipment is a bolt-on replacement upgrade that will fit OEM wheels. Do you have more info on 7th gen caliper clearance with OEM 5.5 gen SE wheels? I plan on upgrading to a 12.6" rotor and dual piston calipers using compatible equipment listed here:

http://aackshunsgarage.blogspot.com/...al-piston.html

But should they clear my stock SE wheels, I would rather pick up a set of 7th gen calipers here:

Edit: Your Jegs kit here:

https://www.jegs.com/i/Power-Stop/419/KC3076/10002/-1

Appears to be single piston?

Thanks for your input!

MichMaxFan,
I agree with you about the Akebono's. I have used them in the past. When I was about to place the order for the pads and rotors last year they were sold out. I was on the phone with the guy from Autohaus and he claimed that he had the Bosch Pads on his truck so I decided to give them a chance. They have been very good so far.

If you haven't checked rockauto, give them a look. They have always had them available when I've ordered but then again how many times does one actually order brake pads?

Just a month ago I put them on my yukon rears and whoaaaa they bite awesome when called upon. next is the front. Just haven't wanted to spend on them until needed.

But now my maxi is pulsating a bit so probably have to swap front brakes relatively soon.

How long do you guys go on a set of rotors and pads? Just curious.

I've got EBC yellow stuff pads. They squeal like crazy and also dust a lot. A lot. After 2k of city driving my rims look black. But the have good stopping power, even when cold so they have that going for them.

PowerStop ( https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...+pad+kit,13824 ).
No dust, great stopping power, reasonable price.

Yes, 6th Gen 12.6" Powerstop rotors with Z26 Extreme pads is the setup I would recommend! Readily available through rockauto.com

Unless they changed anything since I last looked into it they are the same pad material. The backing/shim is rated for higher heat on the Z26. The Z23 backing is made to be quieter but can't take the heat.
