youll need one from 2002-2003. 2000-2001 is a different motor than what you have.

Damn that sucks because i found a 2001 today that looked like the same connectors... I think it's a different part number tho... I found a 2004, 2001 and 1999 but no 2002 or 2003 yet.... Is there any way i could fix the wiring harness? I have a friend in electrical engineering that said he might be able to do it. I just cant find this part anywhere...

Some parts of the harness is the same but VERY little . 2000-01 and 02-03 are otherwise completely different.

You need to figure out whats good and whats bad ,first.

Yeah you're right... They are very similar but the end grey peice might be a little different. The part numbers online for 2000-2001 are the same but different for 2002-2003 . unfortunately i cant find the year anywhere and no store will sell the part. It seems like i'm going to be ordering this online...

Did you try local junkyards? This shouldnt be a difficult thing to find, its not like 5.5gen maximas are a rare car or anything.

Wait... Exactly what fried? The wire harness with the 2 wires that uses a plastic plug that plugs into the alternator? Or was it the thick wire for the alternator output?

If it was the the one with the 2 thin wires, it is a short harness maybe 12 inches long. It also has the wire for the a/c compressor clutch. It is part # 24076-5Y700.

Yes that is the right part. I was hoping to find it in a junk yard because it's rather expensive... About 100 bucks or so for the part... Some places sell it for 50 or 70 but i'm in canada and all those places are the states and shipping brings it to over $100 . the link you suggested would charge me 130-140 taxes in. I found one on ebay for about $73 taxes in. I'm hoping it doesn't take forever to come in... Horrible time of year to order online... Christmas.. I might still try and fix the harness tho

it is the same connectors! but, the 3.0 has extra/less sensors for stuff like fly wheel timing etc etc, the pinout on the ECU is also different due to this. the 02 and 03 have extra features like rolling all the windows up and down with
FOB that are wired in that the 00-01 do not have.
